"Every journey is both inward and outward, an opportunity to discover new meaning or encounter the world with fresh eyes.  Pilgrimage, a special kind of travel, is a physical, geographical, and spiritual effort, akin to prayer.  It is the individual and collective search for the sacred, where the spiritual experience and geography converge...."

Join us as we walk along the Camino de Santiago, Spain’s 1,000 year old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. This section of the Camino takes us along the most beautiful footpaths of green Galicia, exploring farm villages and tiny hamlets where time has stood still. Walking the final 103 kilometers (64 miles) will allow us to receive the Compostela—the official certificate of completion for this epic journey. Full van support with healthy snacks will be provided. Daily maps and historical information will be given out every day, as well as comprehensive pre-departure materials.

We stay each night at beautifully restored farm houses known as casa rurales and family run pazos, Galician manor homes and hotels located along El Camino and situated in small towns and quaint villages.  The smaller inns have the serenity of no phones or TV in the room.

This pilgrimage is designed to reawaken your senses and deepen your awareness of the beauty that surrounds you to experience the extraordinary spirit of this ancient trail.

Under the leadership of Valerie Brown, pilgrimage leader and author, we will create an intentional community and dive deeply into the landscape, culture and spirit of this historic route, an unforgettable experience.

In true pilgrimage style, nearly each day will begin and end with contemplative practices to provide creative inspiration, including prayer and meditation.

Afternoons will be spent exploring cathedrals, picture-postcard villages and wooded countryside, and evenings will offer spaciousness for group discussion of the day’s revelations.

Upon registration you will receive pre-departure information, including suggested reading and frequently asked questions to help you prepare for this journey. This pilgrimage is geared for physically active spiritual seekers longing for new inspiration.

Savor the stunning beauty of northern Spain’s river valleys, undulating countryside and medieval architecture. Enjoy delicious regional Spanish cuisine. Walk El Camino to mark a life transition, get in shape or just to have fun!

Following our walking pilgrimage, we travel by coach for four days of leisure, rest and renewal to Centro Punta de Couso, in Cangas, Spain, a guest house a short drive from Santiago, at the end of the Peninsula de Morrazo, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia.
Surrounded by pristine beaches, the house offers a spectacular setting with beautiful views and access at the beaches, forests and mountains of the Atlantic coast and the Rías de Aldan and Pontevedra.

The guest house blends in-and outdoor spaces harmoniously together.  Gardens, full of herbs, scents and colors; large terraces overlooking the Rias Baixas, the Atlantic Islands and the Ocean, open to the sounds of the winds, loaded with life and secrets from far away.

The house construction is built, decorated and maintained with materials, respectful of the environment.

This is a wonderful place to reconnect, with yourself and everything around you, and offers seclusion, peace, silence and serenity.   We invite you to slow down, exhale deeply and reconnect with the essence of life and relax into the warm hospitality of Centro Punta de Couso.

Meals at Centro Punta de Couso are primarily vegetarian dishes and are prepared according to your wishes.

Two half-day excursions to nearby beaches, islands, or other places of interest are planned.  Surrounded by the ocean and ocean views, the nearest beach is a five minute walk by the ocean and ocean views, the nearest beach is a five minute walk and there are several more, the farthest is only a 15 minute walk.
